Highlights of her solo career include performances in the “Orpheus Classical Music Series” as well as the “Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series” in Chicago which is broadcasted live on WFMT-FM Classical Radio and Channel 25 TV. An active chamber musician, Ms. Coats has participated in several projects with performances in such halls as the Beethovenhalle (Bonn), Berliner Philharmonic, Dachau Schlosserkonzert and Severance Hall collaborating with such artists as the Vardanyan Quartet (London) and the International Chamber Artists (Chicago), as well as serving as Artistic Director of the ensemble  VivazzA. She was also selected to participate in the Yehudi Menuhin project “Live Music Now” in North Rhine Westphalia. As an orchestra musician, Pamela Coats has performed in both opera as well as symphonic orchestras and has participated in such projects as the West Deutsche Radio Musikfest as well as obtained the position of principal clarinet of the Rome Festival Orchestra. Since 2014, she performs regularly with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf.

Pamela Coats has earned degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (Bachelor of Arts), DePaul University (Master of Music) as well as the Conservatory of Music in Cologne, (Artist´s Diploma) Germany. Her teachers have included Ulf Rodenhäuser (former principal clarinettist, Berliner Philharmonic and SWR Orchestra), Adolf Münten (co-principal clarinettist, Düsseldorf Symphony), John Bruce Yeh (co-principal clarinettist, Chicago Symphony), Dr. Kelly Burke (principal clarinettist, Greensboro Symphony). Ms. Coats has also attended several masterclasses under the tutelage of Alfred Prinz, Larry Combs, Eduard Brunner, Ralph Manno, as well as with Colin Lawson (director and clarinet professor, Royal College of Music- London).
